Why choose bending carbon fiber tube
1. Density: The density of common carbon fiber tubes is about 1.7g/cm3, while the density of common steel tubes is 7.8g/cm3. The weight ratio of carbon fiber tubes and steel tubes of equal strength is 1:43. Under the premise of the same strength, the density and weight of carbon fiber tubes are much lighter than steel tubes.
2. Bending shear strength and modulus: After testing, its theoretical bending shear modulus is 8.63GPa, and the measured value is 8.46GPa, which is a good match. When the bending carbon fiber tube is bent and sheared, its shear stress is very complex, including the tangential shear stress along the tube wall and the interlaminar shear stress perpendicular to the tube wall. Theoretically, the shear strength of this carbon fiber tube is 112MPa, and the actual measured value is 103MPa, which is close to the test results

Tensile strength and modulus: In comparison, the tensile elastic modulus of steel is about 29 million psi (200 million kph), and the elastic modulus of carbon fiber is about 10 times higher than that of steel. At this time, the weight of steel is 5 times that of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber has outstanding fatigue resistance. If it is fused with resin, it will become one of the most corrosion-resistant materials.
4. Other advantages: Compared with metal materials, carbon fiber materials have the advantages of being lightweight and high strength. The most prominent difference is that carbon fiber materials are non-metallic materials with low electrochemical activity, excellent corrosion resistance, and aging resistance, suitable for high humidity and high-temperature environments, and can also extend the service life of bending carbon fiber tubes. Carbon fiber materials have a small thermal expansion coefficient, which can ensure dimensional stability.
