Product stress design in custom carbon fiber products manufacturing
In the production and processing of carbon fiber products, many carbon fiber products require customized manufacturing. For products with higher performance requirements, carbon fiber products are chosen to replace traditional ones, aiming for high performance. When consulting on carbon fiber products, inquiries about the product's application are common, as the stress situation directly affects the product's performance design.

In the practical application of carbon fiber products, the main reason is the lightweight advantage of carbon fiber materials. In addition to the mentioned lightweight property, the high strength performance of carbon fiber materials is also a crucial factor. The stress in carbon fiber products is closely related to this aspect.
The special characteristic of carbon fiber materials lies in their high strength support performance in the direction of stress. In the use of single-layer carbon fiber materials, there is a significant difference in stress along the fiber axis and perpendicular to the fiber direction. This fundamental reason leads to stress design in carbon fiber products, where axial forces ensure better strength performance for product use. Normal design involves adjusting the layer angle and sequence to meet stress requirements.
1.Correspondence between fiber direction and stress: In the production and processing of carbon fiber products, the first step is to cut the carbon fiber cloth after carbonization. After cutting, measurements are taken, and during the laying process of the carbon fiber preform, the direction is aligned with the stress direction. For axial forces, more 0° and 90° layers are used, while for lateral forces with shear resistance, more layers are placed at +45°.
2.Different layering results in different effects. For products requiring strong structural stability that frequently move, it is best to use a +45° laying method. Additionally, overall symmetry of the product is crucial to ensure better natural frequency and improved stability. Therefore, during product surface treatment, 0° or 90° layers are often selected.
These are the reasons why we inquire about the actual application of carbon fiber products when consulting with customers, in order to assess the overall performance requirements.
