K
K refers to how many carbon fiber filaments are in one carbon fiber. 1K means that there are 1000 single filaments in one carbon fiber, and 3K means that there are 3000 single filaments in one carbon fiber. So K can be regarded as a unit of thousand. Commonly used measurement units are: 1K, 3K, 6K, 12K. The smaller the K, the lower the strength and the higher the selling price.
T
T is the model used by Japan's Toray Corporation. Common ones are T300, T600, T700, T800, and T1000. The model indicates the strength of the carbon fiber. The larger the T value, the higher the strength. Above T600, only carbon fiber above 12K is produced, and only 1K and 3K carbon fiber are produced at the T300 level.
M
M stands for modulus, including M35J, M50J, and M60J, and the modulus of M60J is the largest. The T series is mostly used in the domestic civilian field, and the M series is mostly used in the aerospace field.
