Carbon Fiber Board Sheet
Carbon fiber board sheets can be divided into the following types according to their structural composition:

0°/90° balanced ply carbon fiber boards
Have excellent strength and stiffness in both the longitudinal and transverse directions. They have a texture on one side to facilitate bonding, while the other side can choose a glossy, matte, or textured finish.
Quasi-isotropic carbon fiber boards
designed for loading in multiple directions, this 0/90°/45° fabric is well suited for torsional or off-axis loading due to its additional stiffness in the 45° direction


Prepreg Carbon fiber board sheets
Used when maximum strength or weight stiffness is required. These carbon fiber boards are made of unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg and/or twill-woven carbon fiber prepreg. These boards are manufactured in a hot press to provide a larger fiber volume, reduced voids, and higher temperature performance. Prepreg carbon fiber boards are available in standard modulus, high modulus, and ultra-high modulus.
How to distinguish the quality of carbon fiber boards?
Look at the surface texture and flatness of the board. The surface texture of a good quality carbon fiber board is clear and neat, without the slightest messy texture. Regardless of the thickness and size of the whole board, there is no deformation or warping, and it always maintains horizontality and flatness. The surface of a high-quality carbon fiber composite material board should be smooth and should not have any impurities. White spots, scratches, pits, pinholes, and other defects should be avoided.
Which is better, carbon fiber board or density board?
The materials used to make carbon fiber boards and density boards are not the same. Carbon fiber materials are much ahead of wood and plant fibers in performance. Correspondingly, carbon fiber board is far better than density board in performance.
The reason why carbon fiber board sheets are compared with density boards is that both of them appear in some decoration occasions. Carbon fiber boards are more used in automotive parts, and density boards are more used in-store decoration. Although both can be used for decoration, the performance of carbon fiber boards is far from comparable to density boards.
A carbon fiber solid board is a board made by directly impregnating carbon fiber raw fibers with resin through pultrusion. The carbon fiber density is about 1.5g/cm3, and the fiber volume content is >65%. It has the advantages of lightweight, high strength, chemical corrosion resistance, and strong designability. The width is between 2cm-30cm and the thickness is between 1.2mm-4.0mm.
