What Is The Golden Dragon Carbon Fiber Buses

Recently, Jiaxing Haiyan Hongyuan Public Transportation Co., Ltd. in Zhejiang province took delivery of 20 Golden Dragon carbon fiber-reinforced new energy buses. This milestone follows the August deployment of China's first 18 "Red Boat" carbon fiber buses in Jiaxing, further solidifying Golden Dragon's leadership in advancing lightweight public transit solutions.

news-1-1

Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP), a high-performance material widely used in aerospace and luxury vehicles, brings six core advantages to public transportation: energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety, comfort, durability, and corrosion resistance. Testing confirms that CFRP buses achieve 10% greater structural strength and 30% weight reduction compared to traditional metal-framed models. The lightweight design not only cuts energy consumption by 15% but also improves braking responsiveness, enhancing both safety and passenger comfort.

As cities prioritize eco-friendly transit, CFRP's density of 1.7g/cm³-significantly lower than aluminum (2.7g/cm³) and steel (7.8g/cm³)-enables over 50% weight savings in cabin components. Safety-wise, CFRP excels in impact absorption, load-bearing capacity, and environmental resilience. Crash tests demonstrate its superior energy dissipation compared to metal structures, providing multilayered protection for passengers.

Despite growing technical maturity, domestic CFRP production capacity remains a bottleneck for nationwide adoption. However, backed by China's strategic emerging industries policy, the local carbon fiber sector is poised for exponential growth. Industry analysts predict that breakthroughs over the next four decades will redefine global supply chains, driving transformative innovations in public transit and beyond.
