118-meter Onshore Wind Turbine Blade Successfully Launched, Featuring Carbon Fiber Main Beam Structure
On December 4th, Times New Material achieved a milestone with the successful production of the TMT118AA onshore wind turbine blade in Yancheng, Jiangsu. Spanning 118 meters, this blade boasts a sweeping area of 45,000 square meters, akin to six soccer fields combined, marking it as the company's longest and most powerful onshore wind turbine blade to date.

Designed to integrate with a 12.5MW turbine, this blade can propel an electric vehicle over 90,000 kilometers in a single hour of full-power operation. At an average wind speed of 7.5m/s, it can generate around 38 million kWh per year, equivalent to conserving 15,000 tons of coal, reducing CO2 emissions by 36,000 tons, and offsetting the carbon impact of planting 9 million trees, contributing significantly to environmental conservation and climate change response.

In response to the demands for efficiency, low load, and lightweight design in large-scale wind turbine blades, this model incorporates a carbon fiber main beam structure and utilizes an advanced pultrusion-vacuum infusion molding technique. This innovation not only lightens the blade's overall weight but also substantially increases its rigidity.

Structurally, the blade employs a cutting-edge verification design methodology. The R&D team has meticulously analyzed various failure modes, such as fiber failure, inter-fiber failure, and buckling, in accordance with GL2015 and IEC standards, ensuring the blade's high reliability and safety throughout its service life and providing a robust foundation for the stable operation of wind farms.

For environments prone to sand, wind erosion, and intense UV radiation, Times New Material's R&D team has engineered high-performance leading-edge protective materials tailored to the blade's aerodynamic profile. These materials significantly enhance the blade's resistance to environmental degradation, extending its lifespan and service duration.
