BYD's 9 millionth new energy vehicle has rolled off the production line, with the body of the Yangwang U9 made from carbon fiber.
On September 25, 2024, BYD Group held a ceremony at its Shenwan factory for the rollout of its 9 millionth new energy vehicle, with the model being the high-performance electric supercar, Yangwang U9. As the world's first automaker to reach the milestone of 9 million new energy vehicles produced, BYD has set a glorious benchmark for China's automotive industry. Notably, it has only been just over two months since the production of the 8 millionth new energy vehicle, showcasing BYD's remarkable "acceleration" in the new energy sector once again.

The 9 millionth new energy vehicle rolled off the production line-the Yangwang U9-combines technology, performance, craftsmanship, and quality. Based on two core technologies, E-Platform 4.0 and Cloud Platform-X, along with other breakthroughs in the new energy sector, the U9 allows more people to experience outstanding supercar performance and racing culture. Its exceptional quality is the foundation for delivering a superlative experience and precise driving control.

To meet the ultra-high performance and quality requirements of the U9, Yangwang has established a high-standard dedicated factory in Shenwan, which is also the first exclusive factory for new energy supercars in China. The U9 is the first mass-produced model in the country to utilize carbon fiber structural components, featuring the world's largest single-shell carbon monocoque. The carbon fiber material used has a strength that is 5 to 6 times greater than that of steel.
