Formosa Plastics, a global leader in carbon fiber with an annual production capacity of 8,750 tons, is expanding its operations to meet growing market demand.
The company recently formed a joint venture with Shangwei to produce thermoplastic carbon fiber composites, carbon fiber composites for wind power and carbon fiber composites for lightweight vehicles, combining expertise to capture market opportunities.
In addition, Formosa Plastics announced the Renwu Carbon Fiber Expansion Program, a NT$2 billion investment to increase production capacity by 1,600 tons per year. This expansion reflects the company's response to increasing demand in various carbon fiber markets.
