Zhongfu Shenying, China's largest carbon fiber production base, has delivered 7,976 tons of high-performance carbon fiber to markets such as aerospace, hydrogen energy, photovoltaic, wind turbine blades and sports and leisure since it began operations in September 2021.
Carbon fiber, a high-tech material with a specific gravity less than one-fourth that of steel and strength 7 to 10 times that of steel, is highly resistant to fatigue and corrosion. It's widely used in aerospace, new energy, transportation and national defense, earning it the nicknames "king of new materials" and "black gold."
Previously dominated by Japan, the United States and other developed countries, the carbon fiber manufacturing process involves hundreds of procedures, more than 300 key technologies and more than 3,000 process parameters. China currently has an annual demand for carbon fiber of more than 60,000 tons, but the domestic supply is only about 30,000 tons, causing a severe shortage in the market.
