Weihai Guangwei Composite Materials Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the 53rd Research Institute of China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO) on April 24. The partnership will combine the resources of both parties to deepen cooperation in the field of advanced materials, with the aim of overcoming technical barriers, eliminating weaknesses and promoting military-civilian technology integration. This will promote the use of carbon fiber and composite materials in the defense industry.
The 53rd Research Institute is a top NORINCO institute focusing on non-metallic materials for defense. It has led many weapons R&D projects and provides support in R&D, pilot production and small batch production. It also plays a key role in developing new materials for advanced weapons and modernizing existing equipment.
