At the end of January 2024, the new carbon fiber product "TORAYCA T1200" was unveiled to the public at an exhibition held in Tokyo. After the black wires are wound into bundles, the appearance is not much different from the previous products, but the tensile strength is 8 megapascals (GPa). Each square millimeter can withstand a tensile force of about 800 kilograms, which is more than 1 times higher than the "T1100" with a strength of 7 megapascals launched in 2013.
Carbon fiber materials are lighter than iron and aluminum and have greater strength. When mixed with resins and used as composite materials, it can achieve the effect of reducing the weight of aircraft and automobiles, and the demand has greatly increased worldwide. If the strength is improved, the weight can be further reduced, and new functions may appear.
